I was only 9 years old.
I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! so much, I had all the merchandise and playmats.Β
I pray to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring every night before bed, thanking her for the tournaments I have topped.Β
"Ash is love" I say, "Ash is life."
My dad hears me and calls me a tryhard. I knew he was just jealous of my devotion to Yu-Gi-Oh. I called him a scrub.Β
He slaps me and sends me to go to sleep.
I'm crying now, and my face hurts.Β
I lay in bed, and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me.Β
I hear someone giggling.
It's Ash Blossom! I'm so happy!
She whispers in my ear, "It's time to duel."
She sits me up and hands me my card binder.
I'm ready...
I open my binder for Ash Blossom.
She fills it with competitive cards.
It hurts so much, but I do it for Ash.
I can feel my binder tearing as she gives me Danger! cards and Ultra and Secret Rares.Β
She laughs a mighty laugh as she fills my binder with her foils.
My dad walks in...
Ash Blossom looks him straight in the eye and says,
"GG no re."
Ash Blossom leaves through my window.
Ash is love. Ash is life.
