Why are you such an amazing person!?... WHY? TELL ME!!
Seriously though, thank you. I got misty-eyed from the gesture alone. I'm not used to people randomly doing nice things for me.
The favor will be returned...

That really means a lot coming from someone as talented as you! My dream is to work as a Character Animator, and I try to work on as many different styles as I possibly can >u<. I've wanted to ask, if you don't mind, how is the program that you draw in in the means of accessibility ?I've been using Photoshop a lot lately, but I think I should start learning other programs as well, and the one you use looks interesting
Also, thank you for the watch!!

You're very welcome!
I don't know what's "required" to be a Character Animator, but after browsing through your gallery I think some of your images show a really unique style that I'd love to see in either a movie or book (or comic even!) Especially this one:
Β
His shape and design just makes him so freakin' believable!
Aaaaannnnyyyyyyywaaaaayyyyyyyyy...
The program I use is Autodesk Sketchbook, and I really really love it. It looks very simple and basic, but with a little experimenting, it can be very powerful and versatile. I tried Photoshop for a while, but it never really felt very natural... then I tried Corel Painter, but it felt ridiculously complicated. Sketchbook is simple but entirely customizable, so it meets all of my needs
(That being said: editing and tweaking images isn't something you can do very easily in Sketchbook, so I keep Photoshop on hand for stuff like that )
And it's cheap so YAY.

I am seriously so happy right now!! You have no idea how much your nice words can mean to me !! I'm really happy you like my "Sad guy" I'm always scared when it comes to background and finished drawings, and I remember working a lot on this one, it was very tiring. I've also been experimenting with lots of styles while trying to find my own, and sometimes it feels that I simply can't have an original style . I'm really fond of your style of drawing and coloring And your expressions are SO nice!!Not to mention how adorable Rene is! I'm sorry for asking this, but I'm just really curious, is drawing/ designing/ art in general your full time job?Β
Thank you for the information, I'll make sure to check it out as soon as I have some free time I've also worked in Paint Tool SAI before starting with Photoshop, and it's such an easy program to use. It may not be as complex as PS, but it sure has some really nice features :3Β

Currently, I do a bit of freelance design work while also working at a bookstore. I tried going all-out freelance for a while, but there were weeks where I had no jobs and it got harder to pay rent. So I got my "day job" to support me when my freelancing doesn't.
(Also I just wasn't disciplined enough to stick to a schedule, network with potential clients, etc.)
I really enjoy my bookstore job, and I get enough free time to do some drawing while I'm there so it works out nicely

That is so wonderful! If there is one thing I like just as much as drawing is reading I would love to be able to work in a bookstore! It's really nice to have time to do both things :3 I bet you have been drawing for a long time !

Ha ha I didn't take drawing very seriously till I was in my teens... before that I traced the sameΒ "how to draw" book for years XD But I guess that kinda counts!

Ikr?! I just started drawing about 3 years ago, and I remember reading a lot of tutorials on shapes and stuff and spending hours to get the basic circles and lines right, and by the end, they looked terrible xD Now I'm convinced that the best way to get better is practicing and being patient What kind of tablet do you use for drawing? (I've been thinking about buying a new one, and I'm not really sure which one would be better)
Also, I'm such a poo...I didn't even properly introduce myself, just randomly stalking people's page going all "I love your work now back to my cave" haha..I'm Dee Β

I use a Wacom Intuos Pro medium for all of my work. I like the size and the wireless capability, but for years I just used a Wacom Intuos4 (small) and it did really well
(And I'm Mary )

I took on some extra hours at work (which is good, because I need the money) but it really made it hard to find time to draw But I think my schedule is back in order, so I'm getting back on track!
I doΒ have an instagram (ShadedCorners), but.......... I haven't posted in forever DX I sort of forgot it existed. But go ahead and follow me anyways! Now that you've reminded me, I might start posting
