though I just have to ask how it came to that. I only see...traditional art in your submissions and faves, so how could it happen that I'm the first digital "artist" (even 3D!) who was honored that way?

Oh, and I already was watching Asfahani - and commissioned a piece. Curiously, I reasonably often do buy paintings (no posters anywhere in my home) but usually only ones I actually see in exhibitions. Meanwhile, I have never bought a photograph, so far... So, nothing against traditional art, quite the opposite, but had been treating DA mostly as a photo site. Seems like that is changing.

okay...I didn't "check" your gallery that closely
I just went through your own submissions and your favourites.
For me photography belongs to traditional arts somehow. At least rather than the digital or CG works. Which isn't a judging just a ... statement. And I think in it's beginning dA was much rather populated by the then upcoming digital artists but from photographs. But I am not sure, my first appearance here was only very short.
However, I am not separating art by the way it is created but a lot of traditional artists still do. So I am always happy and proud if I can "drag" one on my side .
Oh,...and I've never bought anything online either. I need to have a piece of art in front of me to know whether I want to have it in my rooms or not. The only prints that "garnish" my walls is some of my own stuff.
