While I don't condone tracing and/or not crediting original sources, I also don't condone bullying. This girl is most certainlyΒ going to learn the hard way from this issue by people not purchasing her digital art pack and ultimately loosing out big time. As well as a loss of trust and follows brought on by the initial post about this flooding tumblr right now. So there is no reason to come here and continue flaming her pointlessly. Everyone is aware of the situation already.
As it stands the one who is ultimately effected here is Slugbox, and the only thing he really said on the matter was people should be up front about referencing. And should not be surprised when people notice. Source -Β slugbox.tumblr.com/post/960661β¦
People make mistakes and if Vani cannot explain the situation I do believe she will at least learn from this and be able to grow into a stronger more mature artist. And if not. It's going to be zero loss to those who think throwing taunts at her is going to do anything but make you look like you are jumping on a huge smear campaign wagon.

Bullying =/= Calling someone out when they trace someone's artwork
If people are flaming her or sending her death threats, then that's something people shouldn't be doing and it's pretty shitty. It's not nice to harass someone when they're caught red-handed doing something.  If people are bullying Vani, then they need to be slapped with the stinkiest fish to knock some sense into them. People have the right to call somebody out when they're tracing over someone's artwork and making digital art packs and profits off of it. Not many people are making this a hate campaign unless some are and that needs to stop. When an artist sees their work posted and traced elsewhere on a website and makes a signal boosting post about the tracer, is that also "Bullying"? When people trace, theyΒ know exactly what they're doing. People trace whenΒ they want their art to look EXACTLY like their idol without doing any hard work on it, or they use it as a "Reference" to trace over parts they can't perfect while their idol can to their eyes.Β Vani here is 20 years old, not a 12-13 year old who doesn't know the consequences about tracing. When a child traces over something, they don't know the trouble they can get into.Β I've seen many kids on this site trace but, are we bullying them when we spread awareness about them tracing? No. Vani knew exactly what she was doing and as Slug said, she was gonna be found out eventually and look what happened. She was found out and now people are fully aware of her and they're taking their money elseware, unwatching and unfollowing her on DA and Tumblr.
I watched this gal on DA before the Tumblr post was spreading and when i saw the lines match up perfectly, I was disappointed. This is the 2nd time i found an artist tracing over Slug's work and making a profit off of it. People need to stop tracing over a well-known artist's work for the sake of money and just work hard to come up with their own style. I'm sure if Vani did a traditional drawing WITHOUT using Slug as a reference, the difference would be dramatic in the art. A friend of mine told me on Tumblr that they used to know Vani and she has potential and it's clear she does. But the tracing is just no. However,Β I am a saint and i would rewatch Vani again if she learns her lesson from this and decides to draw in her TRUE art style instead of tracing over someone else's drawings.

I see that your really good at shading, coloring and lining on your own, but maybe you should credit your references for all your poses and artworks that are near perfect copies of things that slug and flux have done. That way you don't get a bunch of hate mm mail and stuff. There's no denying that all the images look like they're traced (not the original parts) which are the initial base poses.
