Not really. I only know few phrases in Spanish and some American Sign Language. That's about it.

I can imagine. The only reason I know some Spanish is due to living close to the Mexican border. I would though like to learn Greek and visit Greece since my Dad's side of the family is part Greek.

But the difference in linguistic learning really is big..
Because you are fluent in 1 language, and know some in 1 other..
I am fluent in Danish and English, very knowledgeable in Japanese and German.. I know a good deal of Spanish. And I have a minor vocabulary in French, Greek and Serbo-croatian... And I understand both Swedish and Norweigan (mainly because they're close to Danish, but a lot of the words aren't even close to each other.. ^^' ) Oh, and I'm taking Latin in school .... So 1 language is odd 'xD But I'm guessing it's normal to you?

Pretty much. If anyone in the U.S. knew a second language it would be predominately Spanish, and I think next in line would be French. In High School, I had a choice to learn either Spanish, French, or American Sign Language (which I ended up choosing because I thought it would be interesting learning to communicate with your hands).

Well, in Denmark there's kind of an unspoken rule that you have to learn 2 languages beside Danish ^^' .. The first of those will always be English, which is now taught from 3rd grade. And then the next time will be in 7th grade, where the most popular choice given is German (as we have a border to Germany), but many schools offer both that and French. And if you're at a bit more .."fancy" .. school (not necessarily private school
