What? I can't choose Cardassia Prime as my "country" on this thing?

I'm Nerys Ghemor, the author of the Cardassian-centric Star Trek: Sigils and Unions and Sigils and Unions: Catacombs of Oralius fanfic series.

I am also a visitor in Gul Re'jal's Shaping a Cardassian fanfic universe, where she has allowed me the privilege of an alternate continuity to write in.

I love writing and drawing the Cardassians, who are my favorite Trek race. They are not perfect by any means, nor do I excuse the war criminals and bigots among them. But in a lot of ways, their flaws make them much more relatable than Trek's humans. It is the beauty of their lost, spiritual and artistic past and the remaining beauty of who they could be if they would only get rid of their dictators and learn to live without oppressing themselves and others, that attracts me to them.

And I agree, Cardassians are fascinating to explore! I started rp'ing with my better half some 2 months ago, and 1000p later, I think I'm starting to get better and better insight on them (well, having to take up Garak's role among other characters was quite the test)

I did...it was a pretty good book, though I disagree with the author's decision that Proka could be cleared of the abuse charges based on the information presented in the episode. So while I enjoyed it, I consider it kind of "AU" to my head canon, if that makes sense. ;) (Wink)
