Hey!

I'm Rebecca, from Mississippi in the United States and I like to think I'm friendly and helpful and inspiring to others.

Seven years ago I discovered the wonderful therapeutic-ness of art and I been doing art ever since. I say therapeutic because back then I was in a dark place. Art litterly saved my life and took out of the dangerous path, which is why I have such a huge passion for arts and crafts.

When I was in the 7th grade a teacher saw my artwork and thought they were really good so she pulled some strings to get me into Gifted Art the next school year. Of course I had "try out" for like everyone else did. I passed both tests, which were to draw a still life and draw her the next week. So I was then in Gifted Art the next school year in the 8th grade where I achived a Silver Key Scholastic Art Award.

Then I had to transfer to another school the next year but I got to stay in a Gifted Art class, untill I was offered to take a GED program so I can gradute on time. (I guess I forgot to mention that I was three years behind.) I took that other and got my GED with high scores. I then officially done with high school. And essentially I didn't really go to high school.

But that wasn't enough. I wanted to learn more about art. So I enrolled in college at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, MS as an art major. I went there for three semesters before the math and biology classes made me flunk out.

Now here I am. Still doing art. My skill level is low but I have certianly seen a dramatic improvement in my skill level from where I was at seven years ago. I am confident that my skill level will continue to grow and blossom, 'cause like a wise man once told me, "You have to make a lot of crap before you get to the good stuff."
