I don't know if my response to watching & hearing you sing that R. Spektor song (LOVE her!!!), but.....my heart is officially melted. Your beautiful Heavenly sweet HIGH notes! You "have it"!
Anyway, I have a creative idea! Who is playing PIANO in the background? Are you singing ALONG with the original recording (although I don't hear Regina's voice) or is it a Kareoke version, or what? No biggie.
Most people who tell me they "sing" sound flat and emotionless and dreadfull but I don't don't have the heart to tell them, as I hate hurting people's feelings. Anyhoo...MUSIC has been my "thing" for my ENTIRE life and I have a special thing for female singers. I be-friended a woman when I went to college (Anna Maria in Paxton, Massachusetts) and she sings like a Medieval princess angel and we have performed out a crap load of times and have a handfull of recordings. Her vocal talents are UNIQUE and inspired by some of THEE *BEST* female vocalists of all time (June Tabor, Sandy Denny, the woman who sings for the great band The Cowboy Junkies), and I play guitar behind her and male vocals and record all the instruments myself. I'll send you some of our stuff we've recorded. The point being is that there are FEW people, be they male or female, who I can hear have that "special THING". Listening to every nuance of your voice and your emotion and obvious LOVE and obvious emotional connection to that song (I can't WAIT to hear the other ones! Do you mind if I share them to my fellow musical friends on Facebook???), I KNOW that you have "IT"! Music for me has always come before drawing or any other art form (well working with "troubled children and teens ages 2 to 19 I guess actuall is my real love.....or music, I can't decide! LOL! Depends on the day!!!).....ANYWAY, the reason I brought up my beautiful voiced friend (Leanne Curran) is that I *HONESTLY* *KNOW FOR A FACT* that you *NEED to do something with your VOICE and SHARE IT with the world!! You KIND OF sound like my friend Leanne, sorta-almost. She and I NEVER get together to play and record because she now lives so far away. We call ourselves GREEN TEA and HONEY.
Well....I have a GREAT IDEA!!!!
I would *SOOOO* love your voice to be part of my musical projects! If you don't mind, I would like to do something with your vocal performances on those links you sent me, with "Samson" being what I want to start with! (THANK YOU for introducing me to that song! I didn't know that one! I looked it up on You Tube and Googled the LYRICS and posted the first few lines of it on my Facebook wall. WOW!! CHECK OUT *NICK DRAKE*!!!!! He's me just as much as Regina is you!!! )
So I want to do something musically with your vocal track of that song if you don't mind and I'll mix it and send it to you and shar it/you to the world as another member of Green Tea & Honey......
I'm very seriously, I know a crappy flat silly voice when I hear it AND I KNOW A *UNIQUE* SWEET emotionally heartfelt vocal talent when i hear it as well!
My best friend since I was little also runs a record label out of New York and....................well, no promises there, but, shit! The possibilities with all this talent!! My friend Leanne Curran is a single mother with two young boys and still doesn't have a computer and thus no Facebook acount, otherwise I'd ask you to befriend her.
I'll post some of the recordings with me on all instruments and her on vocals and some with just me singing and playing all instruments while sitting in my bedroom.
YOU HONESTLY HAVE A UNIQUELY GREAT BEAUTIFUL EMOTIONAL SINGING STYLE and you should check out on You Tube....June Tabor, Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention, Nick Drake (male!), Jem, .....(I'll come up with more!!)
I'll send you what a recording of what I did with your vocals and you can give me your opinion if it's great and you want me to share to the world (AND play on my radio shows) or that it suckS!\

Well I'll post a few songs/recordings of mine, both with just me and that woman on vocals. I think you have an amazing voice. Really.
Do your parents/family know how good you are and have heard you They should!!! (I've always been embarassed singing and playing guitar in front of my family!!!0
