Hey! I don't want to scare you but did you or your friends heard about any woods an camping sites closed off because they are infected with the black plague?! I just thought I should let you and anyone who lives in California an if they live near by those woods to stay away from there and to be safe. I heard this last night on one of the news channels. Hia! I REALLY love your foam head and other similar style heads I've seen floating around the fandom. I've been starting my own suit now and would like to try this approach. Unfortunately where I live I can't get a hold of that green upholstery foam, so I was wondering. Do you think that foam you use to put on top of beds to make them softer would work? Or what about camp mats? Also, any tips or ideas? I hope this turns out okay without a canine or feline character...

First off, thank you for your comment about the foam head ^^ I mostly got that Foam from JoAnn's which carries it. As for other types of foam you could use. Um, I'm not exactly sure how to answer that. I'm not saying I don't know and not trying to blow you off. I honestly don't know the answer in the way of saying "Yeah those could work" because it depends on how active you would be in the Head.
But I can suggest you try poking around the LiveJournal Fursuit Community here: [link]
There is TONS of helpful information among their Archives of topics that have been touched on. And there are some helpful people on there that have been doing the Fursuit Head Making longer then I have. I only started it sometime this year, and only had some idea of what I was doing from researching it. From sites like [link] and clicking her "Costuming" section. Then looking into other Suiters, poking around YouTube. Getting tips and tricks from there about the eyes and other elements of it.
But most definitely, check out the LiveJournal link I mentioned. If you want help for the shaping of things for a Canine character, and its an all foam. Check the Matrices.net link because she's got a section on making an All Foam Base Head. And it helps w/the shaping of the ears, muzzle and lower jaw. The one she does in her vid tutorial is for a Canine character. But a feline is a little different. But not too different, just a case of shorting the muzzle and lower jaw. And looking at reference pictures of the type of canine or feline you wanna do so you can figure out how best to shape the muzzle and the ears and especially for when you're doing stuff like the cheeks and eyebrows and other small details.
There is different ways to do eyes too. Just depends on how you wanna go about doing them
