Something you may find interesting: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Joan Of Arc. (1981). Great song that you can find on YouTube or elsewhere by a pretty cool 80s band, if you're into that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nANIzu…

I'm thouroghly enjoying it, but I have limited time to read it; school has to come first until this summer.

Thought you might like this one. Thanks. Read your comments on The Messenger. Agreed, not the best choice of actresses... But you've got to admit, the scene near the beginning where Joan (as a young girl) runs through the flowers is beautifully shot. That led me to believe the film would be magical. But, you're right, Jovavich is terrible throughout. Even Leelee Sobieski was a more convincing Joan. I take it you've seen the Ingrid Bergman film?

Hey! Happy St. Joan Feast Day, my friend!
I was never a fan of The Messenger. Even when I was a kid, something about it just bugged me. I'm glad you found something positive to focus on from that movie, however.
Alas! I've not had a chance to most modern iteration of Joan's story staring Leelee Sobieski, but I'm hoping it will come out on Hulu, Netflix or Amazon someday. As for the Ingrid Bergman classic, I have not been able to sit and watch all of it; someone always interrupts me when I'm trying to watch it.
I hope you have a great day, Halo. I look forward to our conversations.

You do like Joan. So do I. Thanks. Have you been to Rouen or Saint-Denis? If not, I have a couple of pics I could post that you might like. They're fairly mundane, but I think you could appreciate them. Let me know.

Yes, I have to admit that I'm quite inspired by her. I would love to visit Rouen and Domremy-La Pucelle, but that won't be for quite some time. Do you live in France?

I tried to immigrate to France in 2010 through Marsaille and there was a church that had a statue of Joan with a brief story of her legacy carved into the base. But it wasn't until I read the book by Mark Twain about her that my passion developed. My girlfriend calls her The other woman in my life. Haha!

May I suggest "An Army of Angels" by Pamela Marcantel. It's a novel that attempts to fill in a lot of the remaining blanks and unknowns re Joan's life, capture, and demise. It's very good.
