They're japanese markers that you can find only in specialty art stores.

They're about $5 a piece, but they're refillable. I do make a little money here and there.

None of the mainstream stores, that's for sure. Like I said, you have to go to SPECIALTY art stores, or find them online at places like Carpe Diem.

Would sharpies work... (fine point) I have never really drawn a picture in color. I have always done black and white -.- and i'm bored of it.

Absolutely not. Sharpies are HORRIBLE for coloring. They bleed all over the place, and you cannot blend them. If you must buy something cheaper, at the very least try the Prismacolor or Tria markers. IMO, Prismacolor markers are nicer than crayola, but nothing compared to Copic or Tria. If you try one of each, you'll notice the difference.

Yeah the Copics and Tria markers are made of an alcohol based ink, so they blend really nicely like watercolors.
You'll have a harder time blending with the prismas (in otherwords, you'll have to buy more colors to blend colors better), but they come in a variety of colors, they don't bleed like the cheap markers, and they have both a fine tip and a broad tip. They're good for first time users.
