# About me
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sage thicket. 'VΓ‘monos, amigos,' he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintcraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.# Comments

Thank you so much! I actually work at Cartoon Network on Ben 10: Omniverse. And my story proves the adage "Luck is where preparation and opportunity meet". I have been drawing my whole life. I wanted to be a comic book artist for as long as I can remember. And so I had been studying visual storytelling and sequential art for years. I had a friend at Cartoon Network who told me that they were thinking about having a class on action storyboarding that would be taught by Matt Youngberg (who worked on Teen Titans and Transformers Animated and many other things) and he asked if I would be interested. I told him I absolutely would. I went to the class, got bit by the storyboarding bug and I decided that was what I wanted to do.
I still had lots to learn about storyboarding. So I asked around and looked around online to see if there were places that taught storyboarding. I found this place in Pasadena called "Concept Design Academy" and they had a class called "Cinematic Storyboarding" taught by Jay Oliva (who worked on Young Justice, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Dark Knight Returns). Which is where I developed about 85% of my portfolio. We had to do a storyboard assignment every week. It was great. And I was in the process of taking his advanced storyboarding class, when that same friend at Cartoon Network told me about how Ben 10: Omniverse was looking for some new blood in their storyboard artists and that they were going to hire a couple of "apprentice storyboard artists" and that I should find out if they'd give me a storyboard test. They did. And I was honored and humbled to hear that the great Dan Riba (who worked on Batman: The Animated Series, practically everything else in the world... but seriously, BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES) saw potential in my work and so they hired me as an apprentice to work under him. I started working and took to it like a duck to water. The work is so fulfilling for me. It's difficult, and challenging. But, I get so much satisfaction out of it. And so, after 13 or so episodes working on this show, they made me a full fledged storyboard artist.
So that's how I got this job.

Wow, that's a great story. You actually got to meet Dan Riba and work with him!! I love that whole team, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Dwayne Mcduffie, Dan Riba, etc.
I'm a big big fan of Justice League and JLU. Thats great.
I see you're also doing GIF animations. Are you looking to be an animator as well? I know they don't really do 2D animation over here in the states but I think Titmouse does.

Yeah Dwayne McDuffie's influence is definitely felt around here on Ben10. His wife is one of our story editors!
And Dan Riba, I mean what can I say. The guy is a legend and I am so honored to work under him and consider him a friend.
The motivation behind my dabbling in animation is mostly because I have heard that having it as a skill, will help improve my storyboards. And I want to continue improving. So, I'm trying it on. But, I have no illusions of becoming an animator. Just because that work is super scarce. Titmouse does do their own animation and that is awesome and I would be happy to work for them. But, right now, I'm just loving storyboarding on Ben 10.
What's your story?
