I bought your mask on your Shapeways shop and it came in a few days ago. Let me just say that it is an incredible likeness. I just can't get over it!
I have a few questions though. I remember you saying you we're going to make a mold out of it. Do you think I could just paint right onto the mask, or should I make a mold? And how would I go about doing that?

Glad you like it! I never made the mold, but you can paint right on the mask if you put a few layers of primer on first. If you want to make it super smooth you can sand each layer of primer as well (which is what I did). Good luck!

Customer paid (finally), Amon mask ordered!
Let me ask you something... If you had a CNC router available to you, what kind of stuff would you make with it? I use one at work, the only limitation on it being we didn't pick up software that allows for full "3D" cutting, just x / y with depth settings.

Its funny you ask, since I constantly fantasize about owning a CNC machine. Particularly a 4 or 5-axis one.
If I had a CNC machine, I would make so many things: every kind of prop imaginable (swords, shields, guns, instruments, etc), custom computer cases, armor, furniture... I don't think I would ever stop making things haha. In fact, I plan on getting one when I am finished with school and live in a place with a garage; CNCs don't do too well in condo buildings unfortunately

Our company picked up a Techno CNC LC4896 without the lathe option. It's a big sucker, we have a whole room dedicated to just it.
While for work we almost never need the option, my boss is always coming up with ideas for things that would need the $4k software upgrade to do stuff that's not just movement along the x / y axis. It's mainly used for cutting the polypropylene pieces that make up the cabinets for our machines (semiconductor cleaning equipment).
