Thanks, still need to work on a keyblade though. I want to do a Terra/Xehanort cosplay next year, so I'll need a new wig and some orange colored lenses

I've been thinking about that. I'd love to be able to make it out of wood and aluminium, but most of the conns (and the government) in my country and I suppose in others as well, don't like it when you bring an actuall weapon
I met an Aqua and Ventus last year and asked what their keyblades were made from. They made it out of styrofoam and paper machΓ©, which was extremely light and looked awesome!

Hmmm, I can't remember if they used PVC or not. It would make the keyblade a bit more sturdier.
It would still be pretty light, yeah 
I made a LARP Axe last year for my Attila the Hunn / Kossak Costume. That was made out of a piece of wood some cardboard and duct tape

Hm... Perhaps you could make both, just because? Although it'd be double the cost and double the time to make it. But you'd have one that you made with the materials you desired, and one that's safe for cons. It never hurts to have extra.
I hope someday to cosplay Aqua. The outfit and custom boots are pretty expensive. Did their Keyblades also have PVC pipes? I've made some LARP swords before, and the pipe was a very good spine inside the foam. They don't add much weight either.
