Hey, just wanted to say that I appreciate your comments in the General Art forum. You speak like someone who knows their stuff and do a great job correcting so much misinformation. So yeah.

I guess it's true that I did not specify whether or not it was required to have polka dots, so I'll let the dots slide for now.
how is your art block going?

Lol sorry I got kinda bored with the original so I made it random.
It's better. Though I still can't do squat with my tablet, I'm doing a little better with traditional - I was able to draw two pictures on paper last night with a outfit reference, but the pose was completely myself. And they turned out halfway decent.

references are good things; almost everything I do has a reference or two in there somewhere.
norman rockwell was a famous user of extensive reference: [link]

I just feel as if it's cheating in a way to use a reference for say a pose or something like that.

how is it cheating? I mean, what are you supposed to do...magically draw something perfectly without ever having looked at it before?

Lol
Ugh, art block is starting to settle in lately because I have no refs (my new desk is in my room, away from the computer, that I draw at so no images on the computer screen)

sounds to me like you should rearrange your desk/computer situation. I usually draw right at my computer desk, or I use my ipad as a little reference screen.

I can't. My mom *makes* me draw at my desk (Yes, I'm under the age of 18 :U) in my room and won't let me take the laptop into my room. Uggh...
She tells me to look at it when I need it, and go back. YEAH RIGHT I NEED IT EVERY SECOND.

My thoughts exactly. For my age some say I am good artist, others say I am bad... what is your opinion? I am actually under the age of 13 (LE GASP. You didn't know under-aged people came here did you?)

I think that's the sort of thing you can't really determine until someone's in their twenties. there's a lot that changes between childhood and adulthood, more than you're probably capable of comprehending right now. I know that I certainly wasn't able to appreciate that sort of thing until I got older.
what I made in terms of art and what I was interested in changed quite a bit over the years, as well. all part of growing up, essentially

I love drawing, and try to cram in as many techniques as possible - I study more for art than I do school! (Which I do not study for)
I'm just an eleven-year-old girl that wants to be an artist and singer when I grow up... I'll probably change alot with drawing, hopefully the for the better.

the best thing about the future is that it's often unnecessary to worry about it in the present

Beaglepaw In reply to Tetchist [2012-11-01 14:53:41 +0000 UTC]
You're right. For now, I'll just try my best to draw and when it comes to the time, I'll have hopefully improved... alot.
