There was! I purchased a cake slice for myself on my birthday (and also got a free birthday donut) and then went for a family lunch at my parents' house where I was surprised with a birthday cake, so that was nice.

Life is treating me very well indeed, aside from just being headbutted in the nose by my mum's puppy. I got a new job yesterday that I really wanted, and am very excited about, and I start on Monday, and so we (my parents and I) are celebrating tonight with Chinese food.
