Hello Missy,
Thank you for all the well wishes. Wishing you and your family the best for the new year. Unfortunately I have not been able to make plans or really enjoy the holidays or my birthday because I have been sick on and off since December 11th. It got really bad this week, so I went to an urgent care and they told me I have tonsillitis. However, I am sort of doubting that now because the antibiotic doesn't seem to be helping and I have had tonsillitis before. I had horrible body aches all last night and woke up with a fever at 5 AM. I am almost always sick for Christmas/my birthday/new years eve. It is quite depressing because I just want to have a good time for those days, especially because the school break. And to top it all off, most of my family doesn't want to do birthday parties anymore, so I feel like we are all drifting a part, which is really sad. Nobody really seems to want to do family gatherings anymore.

Oh Erin,

I'm so sorry for the way you are feeling and so many things that are not going well for you. I wish I could somehow make things better, if only..   Does your stomach hurt? Curious because it sounds like what I was experiencing until I was given steroids as a temporary remedy. The Dr. is looking for a more"permanent' med.

I know what you mean about people going in different directions and I agree that it is sad. I'm really into all the Star Trek movies/series that is out there. There is a quote that I know hold deeply mad by Captain Jean Luc Picard that says," Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again." If only more people would follow this advise!

Do you think that the family dynamics could be contributing to the way you feel? How often do you feel this way?

Well, I pray that you get well very soon. That's the main reason I've been away for so long but with the steroids I feel so much better but it is a short term solution as they have serious side effects. I just hope I don't grow a third eye!   Keep me informed and take care girl!

I am glad to hear the doctor found a temporary solution for your stomach issues. I hope they are able to find a less harmful permanent solution.
The antibiotics I took for my tonsillitis really messed up my stomach, but it's really the only one I can take with the least amount of side effects. I think I have the flu now. I have not been sick for this long of a duration in a long time. It really sucks. I guess it's better to happen during the school break instead of during school. Plus, my boyfriend has been really thoughtful and taking care of me while I recover.
I really like that quote you shared. I've always had the mindset to live in the present, but lately I've been sort of thinking a lot about the future. But I try my best to live in the moment.
I'm not sure what's going on with my family. Some of them met up today for coffee, but me and two of my brothers couldn't make it because we are all still sick.
