I'm not gonna lie and play like I'm at all neutral, though I generally don't like talking ships, due to the sheer sour experiences involved: but, that said, lol. Databook approved date and all. XP
Honestly, I could have been okay (not pleased, but at least okay) with it if Hinata got even half the kind of development and attention as a character that Sakura had. So much of her character and characterization is utterly dependent on Naruto that it actively proves as a detriment - and I'm just talking the manga. SP is a whole separate trainwreck. I'll admit: I identified a bit with Hinata in part one and kinda liked her, but by the end of part 2? Man, I did not like her very much at all. Neji was the absolute break point for me - her lack of reaction to that, her focus solely on Naruto - oh man, that was cold.
Anyway, you do you, and I'll do me, in terms of ships. xD

Even though we ship rival ships for Naruto I 100% agree with you on Hinata. I still love Hinata, but omfg I wish she got developed beyond Naruto. I think NaruHina would have been a much better ship if she grow out of her Naruto obsession phase and he began to chase her. That is what I would have liked to seen.
I wasn't too fond of Neji but I'll admit that her reaction to his death was kinda lame.
To be honest, I feel like none of the pairings other than ShikaTema really got any solid development.
