Well, perhaps it's an avenue to pursue; you've definitely got a talent for it! People are too quick to disregard the animΓ© style as being of a lesser quality than traditional art, but that's not the case - there are some truly legendary manga artists out there, turning out some gorgeous artwork.

I just don't want to do it because all the other hip people are doing it.
I don't hate anime or manga but what i do hate is how kids consider it the end all be all in thing to do.
I'm not some scene junkie. I just do whatever and not care too much if it's the inthing or not.

Whether it's hip or not is immaterial; if you like it, then it's safe to disregard what everybody else is doing. I used to be part of the crowd of kids you mention, but now I'm an adult, I find that there's a backlash against the manga style with a lot of people who consider themselves to be 'serious artists'; I want to be considered a serious artist myself, but I'm not going to suddenly abandon my pop culture roots and start drawing high-brow art to be so. I like what the style I work with has come to be, and I'm not going to be swayed by the opinions of people I've never met because the world thinks they're worth listening to.
In short, I like manga and video games, and that's where I draw inspiration from. When the world moves on to a more 'serious' art form, I'll still be drawing big eyes and unfeasible hair.
