What's with this philosophical attack on philosophy? It feels like Voltaire wrote this story to specifically spite philosophers and he wrote it quickly probably because he felt insulted after talking to one.

Yeah. You can see that with the farmer. He basically said it didn't impact him, and he was overall indifferent to it. Maybe Voltaire was conveying his belief that philosophy is not compatible with the real world. (Of course, that's my interpretation.)

Maybe, not all philosophy, but some philosophy. Simple phrases like the one Candide lives by, "All is for the best", isn't realistic. Maybe the simpler they are, the list applicable they are.

I understand that. I did see the Peabody Cartoons, but in my defense, Sherman wasn't the true star of those Cartoons, and from a pairing standpoint, it wouldn't have worked as much. Penny's 7 years old, and Jimmy's at least 10 years old. And it would feel out of character for Mr. Peabody, Dudley Do-Right or even Rocky and Bullwinkle to play the role of the Prospector. Even though I could just make Natasha younger, it just wouldn't feel right. And that's when...........................DING!!! I had an idea in my head!
What if Sherman was part of a 90's Nickelodeon Western Cartoon Tribute? And Bingo!
