Someone I know once told me that I was a tragic beauty... But right now, I'm taking it upon myself to prove that beauty doesn't always have to be paired with tragedy. My name is Amanda Katherine Khalaf and I am an original beauty. My women sing loud in the streets and my men drink all night. My aunts and uncles come over every day and my children sleep on couches. My parents are absent from my heart and my grandparents cook dinner every night. I am a cultured beauty. Every morning, I try. Every afternoon, I try a little more. Every night, I try a little harder. But every day, I know that at least I've tried and tried again. I am a determined beauty. My fingers can move a pen and stroke a brush. My eyes can capture a moment in still and my voice can carry a melody. My mouth can speak words of hope and my mind is what controls it all. I am a creative beauty. I have accepted the role in life I was given, but decided to play another. I have understood the harsh words of my kin, but listened only to the words of my real family. I am a content beauty. Well, I can't buy a $500 ticket when I'm only making $200 a paycheck every two weeks. Cellphone is $40, paying back a student loan is $50, and Rent is $325. Even with the money mom sends me, it's still REALLY tough to get by. Hence the reason why I'm looking for a new job.

I am usually quite idle, but I was kept fairly busy this week--I had to dog/house sit for anenergetic spaniel who forced me to take 5 walks a day, and yesterday I had a book-signing! I look forward to being lazy again!
