thank you, I was the same too. I didn't like the art style I had before but drew constantly and worked hard to improve it and now
I have an art style that I genuinely like. (but its not the art style I envisioned for myself so I'm still experimenting with art techniques
until I can finally have the o n e)

I have 4 comic series that I have planned, I'm not ready to start yet. my goal is to become a successful comic artist by the time I'm 24
(I'm 20 so I hope in three years or at least by that time I'll have my ideal ultimate art style) I've been to a lot of conventions, panels, asked
questions at panels and at artist allies but theres still much I dont know about
I know I want to have a team of artists ( I cant draw backgrounds for squat) and just create my comic series
I know I'm willing to work hard everyday to improve my art style and am willing to work under the intense schedule of being a comic artist
I cant imagine being anything else

its really difficult trying to figure all this out so just know that if you need any advice or tips you can ask me

last convention I went to I got a lot of great information from this artist at artist alley on
where to get your merch printed, how to set up a booth, method of payment, and what to do when your first getting started
my goal this year is to create and sell merch at a convention(I of course have to try and get a booth which wont be easy
since there are many artists submitting applications) or at least make an online website to sell merch but then this corONAVIRUS comes along
and now I'm not sure what to do now since there's a good chance shipping just isnt good right now

dont worry I'm sure you can do it^^,if it makes you feel better there are actually lots of artists at artist alley who are timid and shy
some have their merch so stacked up you cant even see them which I'm pretty sure is intentional for one so the people are focused on the merch and two
cause they're shy and probably get anxious easily around people
there are even foreigners who sell merch and speak little to no English so if someone wants something they'll just point at it, give the artist the money, and done
the only interaction they get with someone is when the person is either completing their work or buying it

some are cheap like 8-12 dollars some not so much
I think you should go for it and try to get a booth. I mean it when I say there's so much merch stacked up you cant even see the artist
some artists even have beads or a thin but see through enough drape hanging where you can see them
I Remember this one booth I went to where I had to push the curtain aside to ask the artist something, its really not uncommon for art booths to be
run by shy artists. there are also artists who are drawing on their sketchbook/tablet the whole time completely shutting everyone out until they're approached
then there are the extrovert artists who just have their merch laid out on a table and are completely out in the open....they fear nothing
booths are pretty expensive to rent so you're DEFINETLY gonna need to budget( i do)
even though I'm telling you all of this if you end up not getting a booth ever thats perfectly okay, you can always sell your merch online;
Etsy is a pretty popular website artists use to sell their merch; I'm planning to start there(in a couple of months of course)

none taken, conventions especially big ones can be overwhelming especially in the anime aspect so I get you
but I suggest next time you go to one just have fun, look around, explore, see if there are any panels(and if there are go to the ones you think you'd like)
