whenever i get the urge i suppose :) (Smile) and i go with gut feeling. but i get most of oy inspiration from other jewelry makers. Seasons, a stone itself... and many other things.

Yes, the twining technique in your tutorial is something I'm definitely going to try. I probably won't make the piece itself (b/c I get frustrated when the replica doesn't reflect the original, so I tend to avoid recreating pre-exiting pieces...)

It seems that near future I mentioned is now--hahaha.

Do you plan your pieces before you make them or is it all on the fly inspiration? I'm asking because I'm trying to sketch out my more complicated designs before I start, but I have trouble drawing/visualizing the layers of wire (which wires coil around what and how). I noticed a lot of the experienced wire wrapping jewelery makers actually make elaborate pieces with only a few continuous strands of wire.

Am I just spacial/visually challenged or is there some method of planning that will help me?
