It's cool. The picture caught my eye. I'd spent time recently looking at and drawing cupids, feathers, and wings. Urg.

It's going. I want to be good at a lot of things, most of them in an oil medium, so I do a lot of practice in, er, watercolour right now. But in oil the rest of the time.

It's something that I think you have to throw yourself into - trying it you find it's hard, but like anything you keep going at it and then it starts to get easier.

My pleasure. Although it is not my style of art-that-I-paint, it is something I was pleased to see.

<3 I'm so glad to hear that... It was really an experiment to see if I could do something like that... so I was really worried ;( But it's great to have another opinion <3

Shucks.
Your Baku really is lovely. It is beyond my knowledge to comment on Japanese art, but as far as I know it has the form and line one would hope, and it is cleanly presented. The complicity is key, but I can't really explain why it works for me.

Well, i'm not Japanese - so I can't say that its pure in any sense of the word. I just like beasties. But I am glad that it evokes such things for you.

Thanks for making me a favourite, but you do things with paint which are beyond me!

That is very good of you to say. Mostly it is a matter of patience and being prepared to do the same thing five times. Oils are good for that, because they are patient. You should see my watercolours...
My painting blog is at www.dianaprobst.com/blog if you are interested in the process. I try to blog what I do a couple of days behind the process. The gallery there also has a few more items.
