Arana Webb was walking through the dark hallways of the Mermaid Heel guild with a glass of water in her hand. It was almost midnight as she headed back to her room before she noticed her next-door neighbor, Beth Vanderwood, had the door to her room slightly ajar and with a small light coming through the crack in the door. Arana, eyebrows raised in curiosity, decided to walk into her room, disregarding the common courtesy of knocking. When she walked into Bethβs room, she saw her red-haired and freckled (and cute, according to Arana) guildmate sitting on her bed looking out at the large window on the left side of her bed.
βBeth?β This sudden utterance from Arana caused Beth to jump in fright and turn around.
βArana? Whatβre you doing here?β Beth asked in a hushed tone as to not wake up their other guildmates.

Tanya von Degurechaff was filling out paperwork at her desk, occasionally taking sideways glances at a picture of her main subordinate, Viktoriya Ivanovna Seberyakov. She gave a deep sigh before she put her pen down and massaged her temples.
βViktoriya, I wish you knew how to tell you how I really felt about you,β Tanya mumbled, sighing to the picture, not noticing that the Lieutenant Colonel, Erich von Rerugen coming into her office. The two had a very rocky relationship, as the Lieutenant Colonel knew about Tanyaβs true nature as a maniacal, abusive, and selfish person, and would often try and tell higher-ups in the army about it, despite it never getting anywhere. However, when he saw her looking longingly at a framed picture of Second Lieutenant Seberyakov, he smirked before taking a picture out of his jacket.
