Editing of infrared photographs using PhotoshopInfrared Photography
I would like to show you my way of editing infrared photographs using Photoshop CC and the NIK plugins Viveza 2 and Silver Efex Pro 2. I started about 10 years ago with infrared photography using a Fuji S3 Pro body and two Nikon lenses. Having not been satisfied with the endless exposure times, I bought a used Nikon D70 having taken lots of infrared photographs over some years. In 2013 I decided to buy a new Nikon D90 body and had it converted to 720 nm.
Β
Β My newer infrared photographs are all taken with the Nikon D90 converted to 720nm by Optik-Makario, Germany. At the moment, I am using a 18-70mm and an 18-200mm lens by Nikon. I have used other lenses such as a 50mm, 105mm and even a 85mm Petzval lens too. Using anything other than the 18-70 and 18-200mm lenses make things a bit more complicated because I have to use the camera's liveview.
Β
Β Now let's talk about how I edit an Infrared photograph...

Hope I'm not bothering you but what is a purist?
π: 0 β©: 1
eyeballman In reply to Haupia [2012-01-22 12:46:02 +0000 UTC]
A "photo purist" (as I generally use the term) is someone who believes that there is something inherently different (and and usually inferior) about a photo that is captured on digital media. They also tend to believe that "manipulation" of the photographic image (especially those manipulations that alter the "reality" of that image) can somehow transform a photograph in something that is not a photograph.

Thanks for the thought. However, I think I'll transfer them back to the FA-P account.
I really don't need the points, as there is absolutely nothing on this site I'd ever buy with them. Better to keep them for FA-P, under the hope that someday the group will be self-supporting.

I'm half surprised I haven't seen any input from you on the above thread. It does a very good job of providing amusement (or, more likely, an excuse to introduce one's head to one's desk).

I took a look, and decided that nobody involved in the thread was interested in the reality of the situation (unless you are going to print it makes no difference at all).
To tell the truth, since the (utterly stupid)"redo" of the forum and it's subsequent abandonment of any attempt to keep chaos and lameness at bay through the use of stickies, I have less and less interest in participating.
It almost seems like dAdmin is purposefully trying to make the more of a joke than it already was.

In answer to your forum question: someone decided to completely reformat the photography forum, and in doing so, removed the stickied posts. Apparently, one of the admins kept links to all of them, but nothing has happened yet and the forum itself was full of "what camera is best" and "can you rate my photos".
You're not the only one that's confused...

"You're not the only one that's confused..."
I see. Thanks for the reply. Interesting that we have gone from being essentially self moderated (through the inattention of dAdmin) to being tyrannically moderated (by a digital illustrator, no less) essentially overnight. While I've got nothing against digital illustrators per se, it seems that this one needs to step a little lighter (as it were).

Hi good morning.
Thank you for welcoming the group. I'm new here and I'm still adjusting.
I do not know if it is the right place to ask if it is forgiven ....
What should I do to upload a photo of your group?
Thank you again.

eyeballman In reply to HectorGuerra [2011-01-06 12:36:20 +0000 UTC]
1 - In your gallery, open the image you want to submit to the group.
2 - In the column of text next to the image, click on "+ Submit to a Group"
3 - From the pop-up window, make sure that "Submit to Group Gallery" is selected, and then select a group from the list.
Again, it is advised that you read the group's Submission Requirements document (it's on the group's home page) before submitting in order to make sure that the submitted image meets the group requirements.
