"Celebrating Dionysos using Apollo's body".
I am a gay journalist/activist and author from Milan, Italy. I love photography, but I am NOT an artist and I am aware about it: I'm just a dude with a hobby. Nevertheless, I like to try and create anyway something beautiful with the very limited talent I have, as far as I can.

I am already publishing FACELESS male nudes under a Creative Commons license on WikiCommons, here: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Use... , but please note that HERE on DeviantArt all of my images showing a face are copyrighted. Please feel free to ask for a permission to reuse them for your art; I am pleased to see people reuse my work, provided that you are crediting me and above all that you are not going to use them to produce pornography, which I do not want. I like pornography as anybody else and I have nothing against it, but here I am trying and creating something which is erotic without being porn. This is my challenge, in fact: as erotic as possible, falling short of being porn. There is a part of "sex" in what we call human beauty, and there is a part of beauty in what we call sex, and my challenge is to demonstrate it. Beauty triggers sexual desire, and sexual desire can be beautiful in itself, whereas pornography deals with arousing the viewer, not in capturing beauty.
The models you see here are friends of mine, or allowed me to show their face because Deviant Art is a serious place, not a container of crypto-porn stuff, so please help me in showing them we can be trusted, in this community.

You should not start with famous photographers. Their time is worth money. Capitalism, as you say.
You should look on Instagram for young, talented photographers who are looking for models.
I know they must exist, because I am contacted by young photographers asking me about tips to find models, because they can't find any.
So, it's a case of both parts looking for each other but being not able to meet.
Look for them in Instagram. I am sure, positive, there are people looking for handsome models to shoot.

So I was when I started. I worked for a few years without publishing anything, keeping for myself the images, until I reached a point I thought they were good enough to show them around.
Until that moment, I asked close friends and lovers and former lovers to model for me, under the agreement I was NOT going to show around and publish these pictures.
You can start the same way. And, remember, Italy is a catholic country too.
