Yes I love my Nikon's and coupled with a 90mm Tamron macro it's awesome.

The one I use for close up is my nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-300MM, and then my other one is a nikon af-s nikkor 18-135mm dx ed

Both really good lens's I have them both and still use them ( actually not so much the 18-135 I didn't like that very much and sold it) but get yourself either a Tamron 90mm macro ( about $350. on Ebay brand new ) or the nikon 60mm micro ( about $500 for a new one ) because they are true macro 1-1 where as the zoom lenses are 1:2 and not as sharp. I got the Tamron for the extra length and it's the best Macro /Portrait len's ever. ( Apparently Heather Angel uses the Tamron )
