yeah I think I remember your friend's work. Don't worry about not getting in, either - there were some wicked artists involved, but I saw some work that DID get in that wasn't so crash hot, either! Plus honestly it's much easier if you live in Melbourne and the organisers have seen your work around.....
I understand about the plateau effect with this kind of work. Have sort of been there myself, particularly when I am feeling under pressure to get something brilliant sorted for shows, because then (unfortunately) I can start to feel a bit more pressure to make designs that will sell, so I'm not out of pocket, rather than the ones that are really more my style. Usually when I get that block, it's an indication that I'm barking up the wrong tree
Thanks for you comment on my work. I do try to produce work that's not always the easy or obvious option because on one level, I'm very aware that stencilling is sort of played out - at least in a general sense!

definately. the reason why i had stopped was because the medium had become stale tp me. it seemed anyone could just pick up a can of paint, cut something out, then go around town messing shit up.
this whole notion of such an easily reproduced image... just kind of killed it for me.
but looking at work like yours proves theres more to be done with it all. so props!

my mate was exhibiting. ezekiel 22-17. hes on dev art. i forgot how to do those direct link thingys.
i applied but i didn't get through. which was fair enough. i kind of hit a dead end with the spray paint mediium for a while.
i really love your work. inspiring and heaps different to the stuff i normally see.
