I use pencils with different hardnessess, propelling pencil for smaller details and thinner lines. As a paper I use ordinary a bit thicker drawing paper and sometimes even cheap printing paper (which I'm a bit embarrased of, but then again what does it really matter ). So very ordinary materials (and the most importantly: friendly for a wallet too )!
