They're not 100% accurate, I'm afraid; if I'm doing something for a fairytale I feel I have a bit more leeway to tweak things. I always like to base my costumes on something accurate, however.

haha due to some superstitious problems, I am not allowed to celebrate my birthday, since the date bumped with ChingMing (chinese festival),which is not appropriate to celebrate, but I might go and buy a cake today (6th April in Japan now)

well from the elders, they say I might have a bad year coming up, since my birthday/the date is actually the day we go to visit our ancestors graves, so its not good in many ways since its a day you pay your respect, and from the Chinese calendar, it seems like this day is qualified as Yin, not a good day.

not ritual though
the only thing you need is to go to your ancestor's grave, clean their grave and pay respect
its just only not appropriate to celebrate anything on this solemn day,
so I think I am gonna mini-celebrate it today with a slice of cake from store lol
