Thank you so much! you have NOOOOOOO idea what that means to me! lemme know if you need any pointers, im always glad to help. Most stencil artist are always really hush hush about there techniques when ever i would try and ask how they did things. So i had to figure it out on my own (I think they are so hush hush because its truthfully some much easier to do than most people think just takes some patients.

Oh I know, when I did a video about how I do my pen and ink line art, I got a few notes saying why was I giving out my secrets and the truth is... As one artist told me, What I create is my own no one else can ever do the exact same original piece. What another artist createa will be their own works. I kinda have a basic idea how you do your works it's the process that takes time and patience. A buddy I work with does stencil works and has more of a religious theme to them and they are cool but never did it grab me by the nuts like your pieces did, which made me really think about about that medium. I have a few projects I have to work on first before I tackle stencil art but your particular pieces/themes made me want to try one. And thanks for the offer of advice, I my just take you up on it. Best of luck with your works... Which by the way, the art on skateboards... Great idea!

Thank you man! I honestly started making stencils when i was about 12 i didnt start getting a little more serious about it until i was about 18 or 19 though and then it was about almost 6 years ago when i was about 21 when i started getting really serious about it. It was around that time that i started experimenting with multi layer stuff and actually trying to refine what i already knew. about 8 or 9 months ago i actually kinda got back in touch with my roots and got back into doing more single layer stuff and its kinda cool to see how i have grown as an artist. here is an example of that: [link] the pic on the left is one i did, i think about 10 years ago before i was serious about it and the one on the right i did a few weeks ago. any way, thanks again! I really appreciate the watch and all the favorties!!! it means alot!

I like your shtuff man! You've got a great eye for design. You make all your own stencils yeah? Not just printing premade stencils off the internet to cut & paint them? I like it, keep it up. Research a little technique, invest in some quality low pressure cans to prevent some underspray (unless goin for the desired effect) and you're stencils would take a huge leap forward! Keep it alive brother. cheers.

Ya i do all my own designs. I glad you like my work! some times i am going for the underspray look but it would be nice to get some low pressure cans, but i am so broke that for the time being i had to work with what i got. I do appreciate the advice! its always helpful! where is the best place to find the low pressure cans of paint? and what are good brands? Thanks again man

I know how it is bein a baller on a budget man. Believe me. Sometimes I just I'll eat ramen for a week to save up the money for some paint! Montana colors are the sheeeit. Best on the market. The Mtn clr 94 is a great line of low pressure colors. montana hardcore is a medium pressure. just google their website and order from them, unless you can find a local art shop that carries them, or that will order a case. Support local businesses! Keep it alive.

well i've only been doin this since last december. But, i've been pretty fortunate with finding people that don't mind giving some advice here and there. On the other hand, I didn't want to sound like an idiot asking the question, so I would do some research on my own too. It's just hard to sift through the abundance of information on various forums and websites across the web. Keep it up though. there is only one way to go with this skill.

Ya i have always just wang it. I think thats part of give me a unique style. I have always made stencil ever since my early teens but i didnt get serious about it until a few years ago and because it has become so popular i dont want to lose my style by trying to do what other people do. but dont take that the wrong way. I love the advice and honestly really need it some times

Hell yeah man. I hear you. I'm trying to figure out what i'm going to do to set me apart from the rest of the artists. But, to learn the trade, i think, it is easier to follow along the lines of other peoples foot steps for practice. And then break away from the pack with something no one has ever seen before.

How about a chill rabbit stencil? like a cotton-tail. I've been meaning to get a tattoo of a rabbit, actually, so if it turns out cool I might use your design.
What about you? What can I make for you?
π: 0 β©: 1
josiahbrooks In reply to paperymonsters [2011-02-19 04:40:58 +0000 UTC]
I can do that. do you want to see if you can find a few rabbit pictures that is kinda along the lines that you are thinking for the stencil? as for me, I am game for anything! I really like you "White Muerta" painting. something like that would be cool with kinda a skeleton theme. does that give you any ideas?... any way if its easier to talk by email, my email is jad903@yahoo.com
