I'm here for Photography and Ceramics. It's pretty cool, good environment and most of the students are really awesome. The dorms suck a loooot, and it's just as expensive to live off campus.

The dorms are all old hotels that were revamped, and they have a lot of problems. I talked to some kids last year who didn't have water/electricity for a few weeks in their room. I've also heard a lot of stories about some of the psychotic roomies people end up with, which makes sense--it -is- an art school, so there's a lot of flakey people you wouldn't wanna share a shoebox with with.

Oh. Well then, I might have to look at living with my dad or an apartment nearby. My dad lives two hours away and that's a lot to drive.

uhhh yah, not worth it to commute two hours. like i said, living off campus is awesome, and you can find places cheaper than on campus, especially if you don't mind roommates (~$500+ a month by yourself, ~$250+ with roomies, depending on how many you have).

A lot of students have bikes, or walk. SCAD also has a decent bus system. Savannah is a very friendly town to alternative commuters. Most of the buildings are spread out, but most are clustered downtown so it's pretty easy to get to.

Very fast paced. We're on the quarter system and it's a lot of work. I'm left with nothing but studio based classes so I'll be pulling my hair out the next two years.

Yah, only had one incident so far with an awful teacher, but otherwise they're pretty great. ratemyprofessor.com is pretty useful.
