I'm doing really well!  I actually just graduated college and I have a job down in San Diego now!  I'm still doing research, and I'm a technician doing rheumatoid arthritis research right now.  Things were slowing down a bit around the holiday season, which is when I thought of visiting dA!  How about you, how are things going?!

No wayyyyyyyyyyy that sounds amazing! Congratulations on graduating and getting a job! Wow, that just blows my mind, it's so cool!! I'm in my third year of university (which I guess is Canadian-equivalent to American college) and I graduate next year! I'm hoping to go to grad school and do some research myself ^^.

How crazy is your job?! That just sounds so crazy cool!

That's awesome! ! I hope that uni is treating you well! ^^ What kind of research field are you planning on going into?

My job has been a lot of fun so far!  I'm a lab manager, so I get to boss people around, LOL. Except I'm super nice so I'm really bad at being bossy, ahahaha.  It gets super crazy at times (I'm currently on four different research projects), but overall the work is rewarding, and the variety in the work keeps me on my toes.  I'm participating in two pre-clinical drug studies, so some of the arthritis drugs that we're testing might get to help some actual arthritis patients in the hospital someday!  The idea of helping develop medicine that will help real people is really cool, and makes some of the more stressful days feel worth it.

Haha it's quite busy, but otherwise it's awesome! Kind of counting down the days for when I graduate (even though that's still a year away) and then hopefully I'll get into grad school~ I'm currently doing a lot of work with birds, so I hope to keep in the field! I just really like birds haha, I get excited just thinking about them.

LOL that must be great! I remember how much I sucked at labs in first year (and second year....). That doesn't surprise me at all - I'm sure everyone appreciates a nice lab manager XD. I know I would!
WHAT FOUR?!  I would be so exhausted! And I would definitely mix things up, haha... Oh wow, that's actually super exciting! Are you working for a pharmaceutical company, or is it with academia?

That's really cool!   Bird work sounds like a lot of fun.  I'm working in academia, with a School of Medicine!  So we're right at the cusp of academia and clinical research.  It's a pretty cool venue for translational medicine!

That is sooooooo cool!!! I actually just got the chance to talk to my sister who's in Residency and she was telling me about her research in the medicine area - that stuff is really intense, haha... That's really impressive though!
