Hey not sure if you remember me but you were at the table next to mine at Otakon '09 (ages ago, right??) I was sharing a table with the guy who did lamination. But yeah two things- one I was wondering what cons you're doing for 2012? I'm doing a bunch so it would be great to see you there
Two- you had commissioned a sketch from me (for $5) but you ended up not being in the alley on Sunday so I never got a chance to give it to you! I'm not even sure if I still have it but if you want it I could always re-make it for you at a future con. I felt so bad about not getting it to you, and I never got to get your card or anything! I actually just stumbled upon your dA by chance.

Hi, I remember the guy who did the laminations, and vaguely remembered I couldn't stick around long enough to pick up my commission. You don't really need to worry about that.

I envy ur ability to capture a full table in Artist Alley for Animeboston while I'm desperately trying to find someone to give me just 2 ft of space! XD

I registered the first day they opened up for registration, but ended up on waiting list, but I got lucky and eventually got a table (and a full one too). I can't believe there are so many more artists applying this year. Last year there were 4 or 5 empty tables.

But i think the thing is most people can be a bit greedy in getting a full table...i mean i KNOW i can display mystuff into a full table as well, but I choose not to since i can still manage just fine.
I think some print artist (and dont worry this isnt me taking a shot at u), tends to spead their artwork too much and that makes them use up a lot of space. a folder or a vertical display usually is better and i have seen some get a lot onto a four ft table.
And yeah empty tables, even if its on Sunday is just plain WRONG. Im an AA at cons too and i dont care what it takes, unless u have a 'far drive' or a commitment of real value, suck it up and stay for all three days like those who fought so eager to get in!

From personal experience, people tend to only buy things that they can see, which is either hanging from a display or on the table. Few will have the patient to flip through the portfolio. :/
And I usually have empty Sunday table too... has to catch air plane. I usually tell my table neighbor and the AA staff that I won't be there and anyone is free to use that space. Though it's good to see this year there's an official sharing thread.
