After a quick raid trough your Gallery, I was amazed and inspired to sketch some more animal portraits. I guess watching you will be a lot of joy With all those stamps on your profile I have to aks, is there a Sephiroth drawing, that I missed, somewhere ? !:3

Your colored pencil and pastell skills are amazing

I am also using some tools you do, but still am hoping to increase a few skills such as drawing feathers.

You're pretty talented for that

I have a question, if I may ask you Β Β  Which white tool do you use to add those professional white lines in your artwork? I've seen it in the water drawings and your animal portraits.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mangakasan In reply to Arashii494 [2018-02-07 18:50:58 +0000 UTC]

I use various things, such as: the white gelly roll pen (sakura)< my favourite white gel pen, white pen ink (dr.ph martin) and the titanium white + touch up texture mix (Brush&Pencil)
Great white pencils are the white prismacolor premier (prismacolor) the white luminance (Caran'dache) and the white pencil of the Derwent drawing line.
I used to use the white calligraphy ink from winsor and newton a lot but found the ink dries out way to fast in the bottle so i replaced that for the white pen ink by dr.ph martin

Ah I see. That is interesting. I haven't tried so many white pencils yet. The Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor Premier oil pencils are great, but lately, I used a white Edding for adding some hairs to my leopard. Or make up (While kajal). I always think it is hard to add white fur or texture, but still, I am learning.

Probably, I am using the wrong artist papers ^^'

But I thank you tons for telling me the tools you use!!!Not every artist is doing that

Do you have any recommendations for shipping Sculpey sculptures long distances?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mangakasan In reply to Wildtale [2017-11-18 11:01:43 +0000 UTC]

Use sturdy boxes, i like to use a big outer box and put the sculpture in a less bigger box that goes in the big outer box (double boxing) and use lots and lots of mattras foamin both boxes! you have to make sure the sculpt is secure and cant shift inside the first box, the foam will act as a shock absorber. this should minimise the chance for damage. if it's a warm climate your sculpt is going to i like to use cloth to wrap around the sculpture so the paint work cant start sticking to the foam and is protected.

Wildtale In reply to mangakasan [2017-11-18 14:42:07 +0000 UTC]

How big should the inner boxes be compared to the sculpture? (I'm trying to get two pieces from the U.S. to Germany without damage. x.x )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mangakasan In reply to Wildtale [2017-11-18 15:54:49 +0000 UTC]

i always say better to big then to small, but be sure to fill the entire box up, i usually sandwich the sculpture between 2 plates of mattras foam about 7 cm thick each plate) (with a patch cut out on both sides where the sculpture is resting in somewhere in the middle and use some left over cuts in between the 2 plates so there wont be to much tension on the sculpture)

Ahh, okay. One final question: since I couldn't find instructions on packing clay figures, I've been looking at instructions for porcelain figures. Are clay figures as delicate?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mangakasan In reply to Wildtale [2017-11-19 10:16:22 +0000 UTC]

Yes they are so i think it's best to treat them as super delicate, they can't withstand much violence during shipping
