As I mention in my notes, this is a large 40 inches by 28 inches Acrylic on canvas painting, and is the early stages, painted today.

It is inspired by the great Japanese Master, Utagawa Kuniyoshi!

This was inspired by seeing a wonderful performance of this little known J R R  Tolkien by Richard Medrington for the Puppet State Theatre Company in North Northumberland. I bought “Tree and Leaf” in 1972, which contained this lovely short story.

I was really moved by the production and this is the result!

It is an A4 WaterColour!
