I started painting 1 year ago (well 11 months ^^)
Before that my level was not high, little charactere, dragon ball style. No (good) knowledge of anatomy, perspective or coloring.
This is a drawing from 2014, but my level was the same in 2017 :
(I should repaint this to see my improvments)
So at the end of 2017, my father give me a GT220v2 Huion tablet. I watched a french digital artist doing a painting in real time.

I watched it 2 or 3 times, then, I start doing a (very) similar painting, using the same technics, and it was that :
So I learned the basics of photoshop and painting this way.
Then I watched Spartan doing this painting :

Then I tryed to do my vision of a similar landscape :

This is the first month, painting 1 hour per day...
Then I started working 3 to 6 hours per day, watching youtubers like

(the best advice for color blending, shadows and lights)

(very serious, very strong, but he like himself toooo much)

fun and competant, watching him work helps me like, a lot!
My method was : doing 1 study (photo or master) then 1 fun painting for me, then 1 painting using what i learned this particular week. and doing it again...
This was fun, time consuming, and... Pretty easy when I understood the basics (volumes, values, lighs and shadows) when you're "getting it" the progression is spectacular.
I found a (french) forum to show my art and have critics. I think the good attitude is to listen, even when you disagre.
That's all advice I can give
