So I haven't read Timothy Zahn's "Scoundrels" yet, but I passed your recommendation of it on to a patron at the library today, and he was intrigued enough by the description of "Oceans 11 but with Star Wars characters" that he checked it out. Whoo. :) (Smile)

"No Good Deed." If you ignore the fact that it's sung by a woman, it pretty accurate in regards to Anakin's feelings at the very end of Episode III, I think. Especially the end:

One question haunts and hurts

Heya, sorry for the random bugging, but -- have you heard of a trilogy of books called "Lucasfilm's Alien Chronicles"? They're not related to Star Wars, except they apparently use alien designs that didn't make it into the SW films in the books. They're actually pretty interesting...

"The Golden One," "The Crimson Claw," and "The Crystal Eye" by Deborah Chester. I'm on the second book right now, and they're pretty good. :) (Smile)

So this is an ancient post, but I kept it around to remind myself to read these books. I just finished the last one - fascinating world, but I wish that Amphris would have had longer on R113. Ah, well...

I finished the trilogy awhile back, and while I still enjoyed it, I wish it had been (a) a little less cliche, and (b) longer. It felt like they tried to cram a lot into three books, and apparently it was supposed to be a six or nine book series before the publisher decided to cut it short.

Glad you enjoyed the world. :) (Smile) The ending was a blow to the gut, though...

My thoughts as well, though the world was enough to make up for some of the plotting flaws. It really could have used a couple more books (and a less painful ending), but ah, well.

I'd say see it at least once on a big screen, even if it's in a cheaper theater. Giant robots kind of lose their effect on a smaller screen...

They are! Maybe it's because they're mechanical in nature... Shrug Shrug Shrug Shrug Shrug Plus, as one person commenting on the picture pointed out, some of them already have Tron lines (they gave them all sorts of glowy effects in the War for Cybertron video game).
