# About me
Hello fellow deviants!
I've been here a while now so have decided to take advantage of what DA has to offer and join some groups. Starting to make some friends on here and really get inspired b all the fantastic artists on here. It really is amazing the creativity that exists out here.
I am a 32 year old queer guy, living in Atlanta Ga. I have a partner and a BF, a dog and 2 cats. I have a formal education in horticulture and working on a degree in holistic medicine (first in herbalism and second in nutrition). I don't have an education in art or design other than my landscape rendering classes, but have always loved to draw and really just never stopped.
Pagan by birth and practice.
Most of my inspiration comes from my dreams. I am a lucid dreamer and often remember my dreams. And most of my dreams are influenced by my upbringing, my complex relationships, spirituality and dealing with challenges in my life, past and present.
My style is mostly layered illustration in pen and ink. Been experimenting with watercolor and gouache so any insight in that department is appreciated.
I love hearing people's thoughts. I am still fairly new to all this but very excited to be here.

Watching you Joshua. Yes, dreams are so important. I love Jung, and read his auto-biography as a young man. I follow my muse, who sends me inspiration, images, guidance in dreams and during waking life, as well. Enjoying your page and gallery. I will look forward to seeing your work cross my box.

I do love the red of this work and the black gloves. Actually I love the way you use colored backgrounds.
At least that's what I think you mean by hot red. lol

obviously!!! lol
colored backgrounds are helpful (I hate to draw backgrounds), but you need best pencils, the better are watercolors because the are "creamy" (i donΒ΄t know if is the correct word).

Creamy works. I understand.
I use to use Prismacolor color pencils a lot because they had a high pigment to clay ratio. They even make pigment sticks now.

Ah, ok, We havenΒ΄t Prismacolor in Buenos Aires, but Faber-Castell Albert Durer are simillar (I think).

Read your addition on David R journal and looked at your work. Always intriguing to hear others stories of art!
You make very interesting and poetic work and has a lovely stagelike, cutout picture book quality.
Watching you now!

i really love your subject matter and the layering/shadow box type thing happening, I feel like some of my subject matter is in the same realm... but being in school right now it is kind of all over the place.
love your stuff though, keep it up!

You're welcome. I like the cool calmness of the figure with the heat of the background. It is something I would have hanging in my home.
