Richard - Thanks for all the comments on these shots. We did the best we could yesterday and about 8 successful shots out of about 90 seems a fair return. Curiously, none of the first set, in the woods, was really good enough, but when we have the dogs running down towards the camera, then focus can be established and held and three/four shots taken on continuous shoot. We need to think of refinements to get a higher "hit" rate.

It's all a big learning curve . Did the lack of light and the trees confuse matters , or is it just a lot easier when they are travelling in a controlled plane ??
Have you seen my attempt at Focus stacking ? The best one is the middle one - i'd like to have a go with a really big lily type flower

Lack of light, angles of travel, certainly. It is easier when the dogs are coming at me. I'm going to the focus stacking shortly and will post there.
