A transfer! I'm ALWAYS happy to help out a transfer. I was one too.
Thanks for the compliment, Its very very hard to keep up with the pace here, I'm still adjusting, its certainly more intense than MICA.
I submitted my portfolio digitally. I burned a disk, did the entire application a week before the deadline. It was a mad rush.

i have to take 2 2D courses over again so im going to be taking classes with the transfers to make those up

nope, im waived from the requirements. I realize you aren't among the transfers officially but did you add the group on facebook?
apparently this is the only year transfers get an orientation. its to make up for a history of transfers feeling a great deal of disconnect with the rest of RISD.

LOL yeah i hear foundations at RISD is unnecessarily brutal.
Like some kind of a drawing marathon wherein you guys have to make a thousand drawings in a week.
I got waived probably because MICAs foundations program is pretty similar, and I made sure to have a really good spread of 2D /3D stuff in my portfolio.
I guess they were satisfied.

drawing marathon is a wintersession class and you draw from 9am-9pm 5 days a week

yeah, expecting a reply in april as well. i don't know if it's the place for me either, i wish my alternative was like yours though! that is really awesome you have that opportunity. if i were to go to art school, i'd be completely undecided. truth is, i love painting and completely have a passion for it, but i need some form of income in the future. i'm don't want to end up doing graphic design like everyone else though.
