I'm still writing Conscience between a couple of other projects. It's mostly done, with about 16,000 words left to write--the equivalent of 3 chapters for me, or so it would seem. When finished, I estimate 640,000 words. The problem is that the more I write, the longer the story wants to be. And I'm a perfectionist, which doesn't help. Sometime in the next year or so I should manage to get it all done and posted.

Conscience is still bring written. I have roughly 60k left. When the next chapter will be ready to post... now that's anybody's guess.

I've been updating to AFF irregularly, as reviews there are rather sparse. Eventually, everything will be caught up across all sites. The fic is over 340k and only a year old--it's a lot of work! My betas keep dropping out, so the fic is on my back-burner until I can get someone more reliable to step up to the plate.

that's completely understandable. i'm currently reading the chapters on dA that have not been posted to AFF. i do have a question regarding Conscience - Beretta though. can Conscience be read separately from Conscience - Beretta, or are they dependent on one another? i'm looking forward to when you can find a reliable beta and continue with this wonderful piece of work. it has definitely been one of the most well-written fanficiton stories i have read, especially within the Drarry ship. :]

Conscience stands on its own, certainly. The Beretta off-shoot was created for the folks who like to muck around the magical world, have taken a shine to the stronger noir aspects and enjoy a good blood-filled, violent battle every now and again.

You can skip Beretta, absolutely; but by skipping it, you will also miss out on some relationship development, a healthy amount of sex, and of course Harry destroying the Horcruxes while completing his journey to manhood by growing a pair. It's an extra roughly 225k words (when completed) of Harry and Harry with Draco. Harry pretty much drops out of the middle of Conscience to go Horcrux hunting. The chapters of the two stories are occurring simultaneously, sometimes in different locations and sometimes overlapping.

I feel they're a compliment to one another. Yet, to be honest, I wouldn't recommend Beretta to the weaker-stomached reader. So in the end it's your call. I have designed and written them to be read in the order in which they are posted.

thank you for clarifying. i will be reading Beretta alongside Conscience then. i enjoy the ability to see from two perspectives within the story itself. it's not often you find a story that thoroughly explains all events that have taken place. i would definitely not want to miss out on the relationship development either, it has been very realistic so far and i am excited to see how it progresses. i've read many fanfictions that go extremely soft after the pairing has gotten together, and i find most relationships are not actually like that. yes, there is fluff and smut, but i find it hard to believe that the relationship would cause extreme out-of-character behaviors. thank you again for clarifying.
