# About me
I started drawing in 2008 as a creative release from my job. Eventually I came to realise that the creative spark behind the endless doodles in my notebook needed to be explored more deeply than was ever possible in the fleeting moments of artisitic expression I'd managed to that point. I have no idea where this creative journey is taking me, except to say I am drawn to detail and like images that connect in some way with spirit and soul. My usual approach is to allow each drawing to evolve without great forethought as to the final image, so that the source of my art lies in that transitional place between the unconscious and conscious minds. The work of Ernst Haeckel is a constant reference, while I draw inspiration from the art of the Indigenous peoples of Australia. One of the main themes of my drawing is "origin". The Origin series speaks to the relationship between the living form and the spiritual realm. These pieces are an expression of the link between the cellular and spiritual, calling upon the theme of sacred geometry. They make the statement that the biological and spiritual are intrinsically linked and inseparable.
You'll see too that sometimes I dabble in poetry - usually reflections on the human condition. My method here is to fix on an idea, and as with my drawing, follow it to see where it goes, but in the written form mostly following rhyme as the pattern that guides.
