Hey man, I'm starting to draw werewolves again, but I need some advice on doing the head; as it is the most complicated body part for me to draw correctly. If you can, I would like a tutorial on it?

Oh yeah, I also had great trouble with the head/face when I started. I'll do it man.

Yeah, I'm getting results from your study. They are looking more and more like wolves as I'm sketching. This is amazing, dude! How long did it take you to get educated?

Oh I'm glad. Well I'm actually self taught but I've been drawing or practicing werewolves since 2010 and in 2013 I starting treating drawing seriously and ever since I've been practicing every day. But the budge came when I discovered comic art but mainly Frank cho and I wanted to master anatomy and in advance I realized how incredibly important pressure (i mean very light pressure) and speed is. So I got a bunch of references and stuff and just practice A LOT . And also I'm Virgo so I observe as much as possible ..yeah Just a shit load of practicing since 2013 and when you practice as much as possible and take in as much as possible you really improve quickly. If you have any other troubles I'll see where I can help.

This biography of yours is similar to what I've been doing since early 2015. The only difference I might say is that I've been more focused in human anatomy and crosshatching. If you've gotten to an advanced level of experience in 3 years just by looking at an artist's references, this really encourages me to become even more serious, man! Again, thanks the reference works.

terminator7000 In reply to crazyeric24 [2016-06-27 22:28:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah I also focus on human anatomy and i love the look of cross hatching, but I'm too lazy to do it neatly. My goal is bassicly to able to draw as realistic as possible from my imagination. But, I still have a long road...

crazyeric24 In reply to terminator7000 [2016-06-27 23:59:34 +0000 UTC]

You're close to your goal to be honest. You draw those metalheads pretty realistically. I have to focus on keeping those hatch lines nice and even because I want to accomplish comic realism, like Frank Frazzeta (occasionally) or Steve Ditko. You'll get there, all artists do.

Hey man, I normally don't ask people this question, but I'm wondering if you see an improvement in my art since the ironman I showed you? Again, your work is fantastic, another reason why I'm asking you this question.

Definitely I can see your shading has improved. your figures are also more dynamic than before, and I really like the way you drew the hands in "Gift for a friend" All I can say is keep practicing every day.    Also I think I might have a better way to save/copy drawings in that pencil program. I was messing around with the preferences the other day and I chose the grey canvas color. Then I figured If you fill a space with white it will copy it(the image/drawing) as a solid color instead of transparent . I've been copying/saving my drawings this way lately . Again, if you don't understand I'll give you a tutorial, keep up the great work.

crazyeric24 In reply to terminator7000 [2016-02-14 14:37:33 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, the whole story behind the hands is that I've been learning from other people's mistakes that they make frequently. So I study my hand. Oh and thanks for the advice, I'll go try it out, and it's kinda better like that isn't it? I mean, you can give the drawing more value like that.

Hey, so I downloaded that pencil program you mentioned a while back and I was wondering, do you have any tips in saving a drawing done in Pencil. You know like in JPEG format? I can't seem to save it like that, for some odd reason:/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

terminator7000 In reply to crazyeric24 [2016-01-13 22:00:24 +0000 UTC]

Hey Crazyeric, Yeah it's kinda strange because I tried finding an alternative way to save or export any drawing myself, but sadly I don't believe there's a direct way to do so. What I do is actually kinda sad, I just take a shot of the drawing in Pencil (I press PrntScr/Printscreen.) and paste the shot of the drawing in Mspaint then I select/(cut) out  the drawing and paste it on a new mspaint file/drawing/canvas whatever and save it as a jpeg. you understand? If it's confusing I'll make a tutorial.

also, do you know how to zoom ? I'm asking because it took me forever to figure out and I really wanted to zoom in . I figured out how, so if you want help with that too, I'll tell you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

crazyeric24 In reply to terminator7000 [2016-01-14 22:53:08 +0000 UTC]

So what your telling me is that you take a screen shot of your drawing and then you crop it (I already know that its an automatic jpeg file after the crop)? Wish there was another way, and I figure out how to zoom after messing around with buttons of my intuos.

Wow, you use Paint?! I'm even more impressed.

Download GIMP, it's free and the next best thing to Photoshop. [link] And then if you don't have one already, buy yourself a tablet. I have an earlier model of this tablet here: [link]

And then if you're not sure where to start with GIMP, try playing around with Muro first, it's simpler. [link] Might be slow though, but at least you can use layers.(:
