Awwe, I'm doing great! How are you??
It is SO sweet of you to message me, I'm so sorry I haven't been on dA recently. Life is so crazy and just gets in the way sometimes

I'm glad you're doing great. I wish I could say the same for me, but that's just not the case. I'd rather not dwell on bad things right now though. I think I'll be ok.
You're welcome, and it's fine. I was getting a little worried but I'm glad you're OK!

Oh no! It's okay to dwell on the bad things, but only long enough to fix them or move on. I hope your circumstances improve, hang in thereΒ :3
My new apartment doesn't have internet o I fear it will be a while before I'm on again!

Turns out that day will be soon! Hallelujah! I may revamp (or delete and start over, whatever) this account seeing as this is a GREAT place to keep a portfolio and networking (I'm in a hair and makeup FX course), but either way I will much more available to chat so I don't have to leave you hanging all the time!

Oh, that's great! If you decide to make a new account or something let me know, I'd still like to see what you create. I'm gonna try and get started in school really soon, but I don't know what I'll be doing, it's just the basic stepping stone stuff I guess.
I'll try to be around more often myself, but to be honest, due to overall lack of communication and having nothing to upload (painting.. takes... FOREVER) I don't spend a lot of time here anymore. I hope that changes once I get these gourds done. If you'd rather see if I have any other ways to communicate besides here you can Note me and we can keep in touch that way if you'd like. I don't mind either way lol

I will be sure to keep you updated And oohh! Do you have any ideas on what you want to go to school for?? Like, what sort of field??
And I totally know how you feel. Painting can feel like such a drag if you're not feeling super inspired, or at least it does for me. It's not too much to worry about, though. I've just acquired more watercolour paperΒ so I might be bothered paint something at some point.

Not at all, lol. A friend told me to get an Associates in Art & Science and by then I should know what I want to do. Stuff I've always had in mind has been Wildlife Management, wildlife biology, veterinarian work, meteorology, and so on, but I may get a job in a medical field if I have to. I really don't know yet, but I can't wait much longer.
I'm tired of working on painting this gourd for sure. xD I'm in the final quarter though I think (and HOPE!) I'm just disappointed it doesn't look anything like I wanted it to though. Paint never seems to flow right for me. I never can find any consistency whatsoever when I'm painting. I end up just hoping whatever I'm doing looks okay in the end. Having to start and stop so much sucks. Drawing is so much more fluid to me, but everyone thinks I'm a painter? I have so much paint it's ridiculous. It can look good in the end, but... Give me my pencils!!

Very cool! My original plan was to go into wildlife tech, wildlife rehab or some sort of environmental studies. If you have the ability & passion for it, I encourage you! High school has thoroughly discouraged me from a career inΒ a scientific field (for now, anyway).Β
And I totally know how you feel about wanting to work in a preferred medium. Like, right now I'm in hairstyling and have to work at using hair (and hot tools and product and whatnot) in order to achieve a specific look, all the while my brain is yelling "IT WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER JUST TO DRAW THIS"

Thank you. I'm keeping the option open, since I'm already familiar with animals some people may not be (like goats lol) and I always want them to be in great health and not in pain. But I guess I just want to do something that no one in my family has before. The majority of them never sought further education & just got regular jobs, and my Dad has said I'm not gonna be like him and do something his whole life & still not be anywhere.
That must be really tricky. I'm not sure if I could handle it. I'd be too concerned with making everything just right, and making sure I didn't hurt or injure the person I was working on. x.x I guess it stems from lack of self-esteem & confidence.

If you have lotsΒ experience with animals, you are already ahead of the pack (pun fully intended). It's a definite plus in terms of both school work and future job opportunities. And good for you for breaking the pattern! If you have the chance at a better education and feel like its something you can realistically do, GO for it! Just make sure it's exactly the kind of program you want to do. Personally, by the time I was done high school, I didn't care about ANYTHING. Not my grades, anything I was learning in class, my future, nothing. I was sick of memorizing and regurgitating information. So when I found the course I'm currently in, which is all hands on and like, actually useful skills, I was (am) so excited about learning again! Soo, just make sure you do your research and make sure you're taking something you are excited about (sorry about the spiel)
I know what you mean about lacking self esteem and whatnot. Like, I really do. But I've found that moving out and starting over in a new city has really forced me out of my shell (in a good way). I'm far from totally confident in myself, but I take some comfort in the fact that I\m not the only one in my course who has no idea what I'm doing :3

I understand. I'm still working out the process of getting ready to sign up for it; they're having me to make an account online and do all this other stuff that may help me decide what I want to do and what areas I'm good in (I'm honestly hoping it's like a personality test lol.) But after that I'm supposed to schedule a meeting & then schedule for a test... the accept SAT, ACT scores and some other stuff but not GED so I have to do another acceptance test... From what I've downloaded and read it should be extremely easy to pass after what I've already been through, almost a waste of time.
I'm worried because I don't know if we can afford the gas going back and forth to class, but apparently nothing starts until sometime in March which is still a ways off.
I'm eager to learn anything because I've never had the opportunity. I had to force myself to study for the GED test but I enjoyed it because I was doing something productive for once.
I wish I could move out and get a job, many people online are urging me to do so but I don't think I'm ready yet and I don't have any money to support myself even with government aid (which I may or may not do as a last resort for personal reasons.) I spent my last paper money today on crickets for my gecko. I have enough coins saved up for a decent amount though so I have that to fall back on but it's only about $20.
I guess I just don't want to do anything reckless otherwise it would definitely be the end for me. That's why I said it's easy for everyone else to say. =\
It's kind of hilarious that some of the people who had confidence in me don't think I'm smart enough to find a way out on my own apparently...
But I'm going to prove everyone wrong one day. I'm not going to let this beat me.
I hope you're doing well though, I'm trying to get the wheels turning behind the scenes.
