Ah wow, good luck with the reading! What kind of show is it, competition or a club or school thing?

I'm pretty good thanks. Writing my second play to be performed in Brighton Fringe this year or more likely next. One man spoken word play, 45 mins, about FB and contemporary social isolation and loneliness. WOO!

Actually my friend rented out a gallery space for her and some other artists to display their work, and she's having events on certain nights, and she asked me to do a reading on one of the nights! So I wasn't the only performer we also found this cellist. I think it will make for a good night all in all. I'll certainly let you know how it goes!

That's so much fun! I would love to read it, or see it if you videotape it. I've been toying with the idea of writing a script for a short film, and I've actually written a bit but I've never written any type of script before. Your subject matter sounds extremely interesting. I'm sure it'll be great

For the little that i have learnt so far i would advise writing a stage plsy first as film is something that requires knowledge of lots of different visual devices and tools. Stage plays are all about the dialogue which allows you to learn your craft at that, then move onto film where dialogue is much more sparse but has to be succinct and meaningful, alongside the carefully considered visual aspect. I personally have no interest in screen plays whatsoever. So yeah, try a play and include some poems!

Let me know how it goes with the reading, maybe you could collaborate with the cellist, that could work incredibly well!
