Love the perspective; it makes it appear as if the river has no beginning

Thanks Doug - as you can see I am getting addicted to long-exposure work. I did drop and break my R72 filter so no IR work for a bit. By the way... did you get a D80 yet or a new camera yet?

cappaholic In reply to 32tsunami [2007-07-24 01:51:53 +0000 UTC]

No D80.
Going to focus on accessories right now. Finally bought an SB-800 flash. Don't know how I took photos before I got it.

I agree on the Sb-800 - Worth every penny! The D80 has a nice ability to fire those off wireless - that has been great for multiple-speedlight location portraits.

So far I'm loving what my SB-800 can do. Check the 3 latest photos in my photo stream to see.

rhin-sowilo [2007-06-28 23:53:46 +0000 UTC]

Very nice. How did you do it? Handheld, or on a tripod? It looks like you're standing right in the middle of the water.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

32tsunami In reply to rhin-sowilo [2007-06-29 00:22:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks It was a tripod capture (10seconds) and a bend in the river - but my goal was the standing in the middle look with some zoom. The weather is the tricky part...the lighting needs to be even and fairly dark

whitelouis [2007-06-28 22:49:33 +0000 UTC]

Wow, this is pretty nice, did you have a polarizer and ND filter on there?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

32tsunami In reply to whitelouis [2007-06-29 00:24:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Just a ND filter - I broke me polarizer (cokin kit) last week or that would have been good

Love it. Where was this taken? Great work on the rushing water and the composition. I will post one of mine that I took Wed. The composition is hard with these.

This was from a small stream near Crystal Mountain. Just a few miles past the chinook pass gate. I spent a few days up at Rainier Nat'l Park. Many more mountain images soon. Thanks again on your comments and Fav.
