IMO one of the most brilliant pieces you've ever done, and it's in your scraps. XD
Never mind that it doesn't have a mindboggling background of leaves and moss, or isn't that incredibly detailed. Because gosh, those eyes. With just a few dots and brushstrokes in the right place, you capture so clearly that he's not looking at anything but rather at something in his mind's eye, imagining, daring to think, scheming, gears turning...

I think this painting partly inspired the elves I use in my fantasy story. They're more of a rough, disbanded group than say, the High Elves of LotR. And I actually prefer it. Why, you say...?

I love this! You really should do more realistic-paintings of Morgan, what a wonderfully depicted character, he looks like the kind of person(creature) who wouldn't lay down and take anything he doesn't agree with, but I like to think he has a soft side too

Now *I* understand how through Helen's beauty a war was fought. Because, while, the rebellion in this fantasy may be way more substantial than that, I find that I definitely *would* fight for this elf's eyes. They are so, so very passionate.

I have loved this piece of art for a very long time.
When I read Carol Berg's Rai-Kirah trilogy (Transformation, Revelation, Restoration) I immediately thought of this piece as being the main character (who is completely badass and amazing).

That is the look of a man who could ruin a kingdom. Don't know the story, but I'd have to say a "rebel" character tends to have the most impact if he dies...preferably in battle.

I am looking at this image again reading your "art proposal" journal entry thing, and...god, this picture STILL haunts me. I LOVE it so much! Morgan is beautiful in a dark and sumptuous way in this art piece. I love the dark hair and your subtle use of colors. The intensity in his eyes is awing.
Please, I beg of you to portray Morgan more in your artwork. He is a fascinating character.
