Description here is the (very nearly complete) colored version of the creature i made for the splice contest.
i am working on a background, but i want it to be up to par, so it will probably take a while. happily, though, i've finally figured out how to use layers! so i can work on it independently without the stress of working around what i already have!
so here it is for now, and for probably quite a long time!
just brush tool on gimp. nice relaxing fun.

This is amazing!!! I thought it was prismacolor-colored or something... WHOA. Looks even better in color than black and white, if I may say so. ^_^

thanks! yeah, i get worried adding color to things, but i think it really payed off in this one.

haha, this guy is one of the few pictures i don't really have a mental story to go along with, but he did inspire a silly idea for a completely separate story that i don't have any pictures for, as of yet.

Alright, now that is awesome.
I love his neck. The way you transitioned from
blues/greens to the browns. It really looks like an animal
someone would find on another planet. I know it was hard to
choose the colors, but you did a great job! I think i'm gonna have to do some fanart (:
